BICS Student Networking Event & Board Meeting

BICS Board Meeting Thursday 28th August
2-4pm in the Students’ Union Building in UL.

Members of the board are welcome to join in with the Networking Events throughout the day. That timetable is below and all events will take place in the Students’ Union building.

Note: Any of the working groups can avail of the time before or after the Board Meeting to meet up and make plans for the coming year just confirm with Michelle  so she  can arrange a room for you on UL Campus.

11am – 12:30pm:
BICS Awards:
What are the categories?, how to prepare your societies, award winning portfolios, what happens on the day?, the importance of wisely choosing judges, the new inter-college event award.
12:30pm – 1:30pm
Inter-College Communication:
“Hive”- the new inter college communication tool
1:30pm – 2pm
Lunch
2.30pm – 4pm:
Student Networking Reps Strategy Meeting
4pm – 6pm:
The BICS Guide to organizing an Inter-College Event:
What is an inter-college event, planning, funding, PR and Health and Safety for a successful event.
6.30pm
Dinner

Friday 29th August
10am – 1pm
Networking Reps Team-Building
Building a team, understanding group dynamics, conflict resolution (Its Interactive so wear comfortable clothing)
1pm – 2pm
Lunch
2:30pm – 3:30/4pm:
Bowling.
Transport will be provided back to the city to get buses/trains for 4pm and after.

Cost of Networking Event:

BICS will be covering the cost of the events and food for the ONE BICS Networking Student Rep from each college and providing accommodation in a win room, there is a 15 euro supplement for a single room (note availability is limited so book with secretary@bics.ie immediately if you want accommodation. If any college wants to appoint more than one Student Networking Rep they are welcome to attend but will need to cover the cost for both days and accommodation (€65).

All board members are welcome and encouraged to attend the other sessions on the 28th and the morning session on Friday. These are all free and will include a light lunch. If you are staying over on Thursday night you will need to arrange and pay for your own accommodation and dinner on Thursday Evening will cost approximately 10 euro.

Any Colleges who have not signed up their Student Networking Rep can you please do so as soon as possible so your institution is involved and up to date.
