The Irish National Law Debates is the annual intervarsity debating competition hosted in NUI Galway. The event followed the standard form of debating competitions, as set by the European and World Championships, with four teams of two debating a motion 15 minutes after first receiving it. There are five open rounds followed by a novice final, semi-finals and a final. The competition takes place over two days with food provided throughout, a social on Friday night and with dinner and the final taking place in the Ardilaun Hotel on Saturday.
